Benjamin Lee Briggs, 93, of Buhl, died Friday May 13, 2016. Ben was born on September 2, 1922, in Twin Falls, ID, to Ernest and Ella Briggs and raised in Twin Falls. While serving in the Army Air Corp during World War II in England, he married Mary Gertrude Wade in Blackpool, England on April 24, 1945.
Ben is survived by his seven children, Andrea (David) Hofland of Filer, Sylvia (Ed) Crumrine of Hazelton, Greg (Marla) Briggs of Blackfoot, Nicola (Steve) Petrie of Bremerton, WA, Noel (Liz) Briggs of Wendell, Matthew (Susan) Briggs of Twin Falls, and Philip (Lisa) Briggs of Twin Falls. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers and four sisters.
The family is grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of Evergreen Place Assisted Living in Buhl, Idaho.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1631 Poplar St., Buhl.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl with Father Jorge Garcia and Father Boniface Lautz, O.S.B., con-celebrants.
Ben's family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made the Buhl Senior Center where Ben enjoyed the company of many friends. Arrangements are being handled by Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
