HAGERMAN - Betty Lou Lloyd left this world peacefully at sunrise Sunday morning, November 25 at her home in Hagerman surrounded by her girls. Now free from the restraints of a mortal body, she is reunited with her sweetheart and loved ones that have gone before.
Betty was born November 8, 1927 to Vilhelm Henry Rasmussen and Emma Janette Dayley in Burley, Idaho. She was the middle of three siblings, Bertha and Delbert. She was raised in the Burley/Springdale area.
In 1946 she met and married the love of her life, Cleave Lloyd. Together they had four daughters, Coletta, Lana, Annette & Mary Lou. They settled in the Hagerman Valley in 1951 when Cleave bought a repair shop. Betty was his helpmate in every way possible. She was his bookkeeper, parts runner, lunch lady, and anything else he asked of her. Betty walked the Hagerman Cemetery and mapped out all the graves where Cleave was the grave digger for 33 years. Many Memorial Day Weekends she was at the cemetery assisting folks find graves of their loved ones. Giving freely of her time she found this to be a very rewarding service to others. She was also very crafty with yarn, sewing and making do. Betty was a devoted wife and mother with the patience of a Saint. She was proud to be a homemaker and wife, an example to all who knew her.
Betty was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her callings included Primary and Sunday school teacher, secretary, librarian, devoted visiting teacher and visiting teaching supervisor. She loved the Lord and lived to serve Him.
