Brian Vern Rodig, 50, of Buhl, Idaho peacefully passed away in his sleep on October 21, 2012 at his home.
Brian was born March 9, 1962 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Vern and Beverly Rodig. He was a special gift to his mother, being born on her birthday. He was the third of four children, Kim, Pam, Brian and Dina.
He was raised in Buhl and graduated from Buhl High School in 1981. While in school he was always very active in multiple sports, excelling in track and field and winning the State title in the high jump as a freshman.
Following high school he married Toni Janssen and from that union came a beautiful daughter Brandy Michelle. They later divorced.
Brian then married Mylyn Parker in 1996 and they were blessed with two sons, Colby and Payton.
Brian dearly loved his children and tried to spend every spare minute with them. He enjoyed being involved in all their activities including rodeo, soccer, t-ball, football, basketball and baseball. Brian was always very involved in Buhl School District sports programs as both a coach and helping with the football chain crew. He was also very influential in promoting Buhl Youth Sports Programs. Brian had a hard time saying no when people asked him for help.
Brian enjoyed many outdoor hobbies including hunting, camping and golf. He enjoyed success in golf tournaments and even carded two hole-in-ones (of which he was very proud).
Brian worked for Clear Springs Foods for over thirty years, developing numerous lifelong friendships which he cherished to his last day.
Brian will be truly missed. He was a loving father, husband, son and brother as well as a very special friend to all that knew him.
