Bulah Brooks

Bulah "Betty" Brooks, 79, of Buhl/Twin Falls, passed away July 1, 2017 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls due to medical issues and Alzheimer's/Dementia.

Betty was born in Arkansas and grew up in foster care. Upon high school graduation she enlisted in the Army where she trained in food service. After leaving the Army, she found her true calling when she was chosen for a special nationwide teacher training program.

Betty was an advocate for children, not only throughout her teaching career at Filer Elementary School, but also in retirement. Her favorite project was making quilts for less privileged children. She made at least 24 each year. She also enjoyed fishing at Oster Lakes, especially with her grandsons.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth, Gloria (Scott); grandsons, Jake (Shelby) and Jubal.

Thank you to the care givers from the past several years, especially the staff at Ashley Manor and St. Luke's Magic Valley Hospital.

No funeral services are planned, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
