Connie Jane Burrows

Connie Jane (Thurman) Burrows (81) passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family, laughing and reminiscing.

Connie was born February 1, 1943, and raised in Buhl, Idaho. She attended Boise State Community College and Western Nevada Community College for their Nursing Assistant Program. Connie has lived in Carson City over 50 years. She retired after working many years for the State of Nevada and Carson City. Connie loved volunteering for Food for Thought.

Connie is survived by her children Thomas Layne (Heather) Koche and Kyme (Eddy) Brown; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Rusty), Austin (Ashley), Colby (Morgan); and great grandchildren, Graysen, Addysen and Violet. Connie was very fortunate to have honorary family in Buhl, Idaho and Carson City, Nevada.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Woody & Lilly Thurman; and her brother, Gene Thurman.

A special thank you goes out to the staff at Renown Hospice for their support, compassion and excellent care of Connie as she transitioned.

Connie was loved and cherished by so many that there will be two celebrations of life in her honor. A Celebration of life will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1269 Lindsay Lane, Carson City, Nevada. A second Celebration of Life will be held in Buhl, Idaho, at a later date (Spring 2025).

Per Connie’s wishes she made an anatomical gift to the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
