Dalmont Earl Esau

April 10, 1939 — April 25, 2025

BUHL

Dalmont Earl Esau was born on April 10, 1939 to John J. and Edna Amick Esau in DeRidder, Louisiana. He passed away at Heritage Home, Twin Falls, Idaho on April 25, 2025, age 86.

He was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite on April 5, 1950, by Minister Frank H. Wenger. He endeavored to be faithful to the end.

They lived many places in their growing up years, from Louisiana to Upland, California and then to Winton. Then they moved to Rich Hill, Missouri where he went to school all eight grades. Then his family moved back to Winton where he finished his schooling.

We were married on May 10, 1961, at Ithaca, Michigan by his father, Minister John J. Esau. We were married almost 64 years. Two sons were born in Michigan.

In 1977 we moved to Buhl, Idaho and then to Youngtown, Arizona in April of 1985. Dalmont did some trucking for a while and also construction. We opened the water store in 1995-2005. This was much enjoyed by the grands as they could come in and all they would have to do was point to what they wanted and their grandpa would give them anything from ice cream to candy. We left Arizona in 2016 hoping to spend some time each year in Texas and Idaho but plans changed and in 2018 we settled at Buhl.

Dad loved the children and always had candy in his pockets. His grands and great grands were special to him.

In May of 2024 folks moved into Heritage Assisted Living in Twin Falls. They received excellent care there and the workers have become part of our family.

His survivors include his wife, Nancy; children: Robert and Anita, Filer, Idaho: Errol and Natalie, Uvalde, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; siblings: Sherrill and Joyce Esau, LaFreda Mininger, Melba and Raymond Giesbrecht, Lyvon and Marlys Esau, and Karen Giesbrecht; brother-in-law: Wesley and Vicki Litwiller, sister-in-law, Linda Lewis and Larry.

He was predeceased by his parents, parent-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Buhl Mennonite Church, 4104 North 1100 East, Buhl.
