HAGERMAN

Denny Tyler, the beautiful and gracious resident of Hagerman, Idaho has peacefully passed away. She was born May 21, 1923, to Riley and Hattie Glenn in Dade County, Missouri, where she spent her early years. She graduated from high school in 1941 and went to work at a Defense Plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1942. She worked there until the war was over, then went to Secretarial School, and was then hired to work for a law firm in Tulsa.

While vacationing in California in 1950, she met her future husband, Ben Hardin. They were married later that year. She fondly spoke of “having a very good marriage and 33 wonderful years together.” For many years they owned a drug store in Sonoma, California. They eventually moved to Turlock, California where Ben established another drug store. Denny went to work for a brokerage in Modesto where she worked for 20 years. Ben passed away in 1983.

In 1985, she married Bruce Tyler. He was an acquaintance of many years. They lived on his picturesque ranch and enjoyed happy times in this beautiful setting. While looking for a “fishing cabin” in Idaho, they found a house along the banks of Billingsley Creek in Hagerman. Friends will be quick to note that it became much more that a “cabin” as it was remodeled and expanded. Their home nestled close to the rushing water and was landscaped and decorated to maximize their unique location. They traveled between their two homes until 1999 when Bruce passed away.

Denny was preceded in death by her sisters, Amy Wright, Blanche Hayward, and Geraldine Warmack; and brother, Gary Glenn. She is survived by her nieces, Brenda (James) Adams, Carole (Tim) Humbert, and Judy Wheeler; nephew, Stan (Desi) Hayward; she is also survived by her stepson, Alan Tyler; and stepdaughter, Sheridan Skinner.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday. October 29, 2021 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 446 S. State Street Hagerman, Idaho 83332.
