Dorothy Grubbs Painter Newkirk

Dorothy Eleanor Binder Grubbs Painter Newkirk, 91, of Gresham, Oregon passed away July 16, 2022 at a local care facility in Gresham, Ore.

Dorothy was born near Gooding, Idaho on June 6, 1931 when the family was living on Shoestring road.

She graduated from Buhl High School in 1949.  Dorothy moved often during her life and worked at a variety of jobs.  For several years she worked for the U.S. Navy as a civilian contractor.  Due to this service her remains will be buried at sea from a U.S. Navy vessel.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Lane Grubbs; brothers, Don and Jim Binder; sister, Clari Jean Binder and three husbands.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Wells and Donna Davis; grandchildren, Jimmy Nelson, Chad Davis and Sarah “Ellie” Garcia; great-grandchildren, Chad Davis Jr., David and Adela Garcia.
