Our beloved Dad, Grandpa, Papa, and Popsie, Duke Alton Vogler, entered eternal life on October 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Buhl, Idaho.
Duke was born January 25, 1943, to Paul and Marion Vogler in Bell, California. Duke graduated from Downey High School in Downey, California in 1960. Duke spent his working career as an aerospace engineer, most notably for Notthoff Engineering as plant supervisor, Q.C. manager and parts designer for the shuttlecraft program.
He married the love of his life, Patty, in Norwalk, California on January 18, 1964. They enjoyed their life together for over 57 years. He was a devout Catholic during his life, with affiliations at Beatitudes of Our Lord Church in La Mirada, California (for over 50 years) and at Immaculate Conception Church in Buhl, Idaho (for the last 7 years).
He enjoyed many past times such as fishing (his favorite thing to do, by far) and bowling (a high average for many years), among others. He also thoroughly enjoyed serving at church in many capacities (bell ringer, usher, money counter, festival booth chairman, just to name a few). He also had several enjoyable hobbies such as collecting pocketknives, U.S. coin sets, antiques, magnifying glasses, and reading political books.
Duke is survived by his son, John; daughters, Lisa (Logan) Harper, and Steph Vogler; grandchildren, Amber (JC) Roberts, A.J. Carrola IV, and Zander (Katie) Hudson; great-grandchildren, Addison Roberts, Jackson Roberts, Owen Roberts, Meridian Carrola, and Xayah Hudson; his brother-in-law John Patrick (Patty) Drohan Jr.; niece and nephew, Ann-Marie (Travis) Nelson and Michael Drohan Jr.; and great-nephews, Aidan Nelson and Collin Nelson.
Our Dad, respected as one of the great ones, we will miss you so! Your personality, your humor, your laugh, and your presence in our lives was a gift. We are so grateful you are reunited with Mom in your Heavenly Home, and we will cherish the memories forever.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1701 Poplar St, Buhl.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Duke’s memorial webpage at www.farmerfuneralchapel.com.
