Faye Pearl Scherbinske, 81, of Buhl, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.
Faye was born on October 8, 1932, in Nampa, Idaho, the daughter of Pearl Susan and Lewis Vern Hoffman. In 1946, they moved to Twin Falls where she graduated High School in 1950.
On July 7, 1950, Faye married Melvin Roy Scherbinske at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls. Together they moved to Buhl, Idaho in 1954. Faye worked at the Fidelity National Bank for 3 years, she sorted and inspected potatoes for 20 years and boned fish for Clear Springs Trout Farms until her retirement in 1991.
Faye enjoyed sewing, crafts and she was an avid fisherman and camper. She belonged to the St. John's Lutheran Church of Buhl. Though not related, she was called "Aunt Faye" by many boys and girls.
Faye was survived by her sons, Jim (Leanne) and Rick (Nancy) Scherbinske; grandchildren, Heather and Jayme and brother, Dick Hoffman.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, Melvin; brothers, Earl Hoffman and Art Hoffman and sister, Dolores Ambrose.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buhl. Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
