Frieda Korte-Roberts

Frieda Emma Korte Roberts, 95, of Buhl, passed away January 3, 2014 at River Rock Assisted Living in Buhl, Idaho.

Frieda was born December 16, 1918 in Howells, Nebraska to Ben and Friedaricka Christ Remm. In 1937, she married Louis Korte. They farmed and raised cattle in Nebraska. In 1953, Lou and Frieda moved to Buhl, Idaho where they farmed and operated a dairy. Louis passed away in 1962. Frieda married Thaine Roberts in November of 1964 in Buhl, they also farmed and raised cattle.

Frieda enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and flowers. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, crocheting and was a great cook. Most of all she loved her family. Visits from her grandchildren and great-grandsons were the highlights of her day. She will be greatly missed. Frieda was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl.

Shortly after Thaine passed away, Frieda moved to assisted living, first in Twin Falls and then in Buhl. River Rock Assisted Living has been her home for the last 4 ½ years.

Frieda is survived by her son, Jim Korte and his wife Nedra; granddaughters, Kaleen Goedhart, Shayla Armitage both of Buhl, Jami Whiles and husband Scott of Meridian; Tom's son, Barry Korte; great-grandsons, (who called her GG), Brett and Brad Twiss of Twin Falls, A.J. and Joe Armitage of Buhl, Tommy and Torry Whiles of Meridian; sisters, Shirley High of Twin Falls and Donna Staats of Lakeside, Az.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Fredaricka; husbands, Louis Korte and Thaine Roberts; son, Tom Korte; sister, Mildred Brahmer; brothers, Howard, Norman and Donald Remm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Buhl. A viewing will be from 6 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl, with a Rosary starting at 7 p.m.
