Gary Dawayne Ochsner, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho on November 4, 2022. Gary was born on December 12, 1951 in Wichita Falls, Texas to his parents Roland and Florene Ochsner.
Gary was a decorated veteran who served in Vietnam and spent 20 years in active duty from 1970 to 1990. When Gary wasn’t camping on the Boise River, he was found traveling to the Eastern Shore of Virginia to visit his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lonnie Zeldon, and Lonnie Dean; his sister, Gloria “Jeannie”; and his brother-in-law, Eddie. Gary is survived by his sons, Jason, Garrett (Christina); daughter, Mary (Benjamin); granddaughter, Isabella; grandsons, Matthew and Daniel; sisters, Sandra, Marcella (Woody), Connie (Ray) and Gaye (Ronald); brother Ronald; many nieces and nephews; and those he held dear, Farrow Ochsner, Brandon Ochsner, Steven James, and Jamie James.
A memorial graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, 11:00am, at the Snake River Canyon National Cemetery, 1585 East 4150 North, Buhl, Idaho.
No donations or flowers are requested at this time, only that you take the time to remember the beautiful soul that was Gary.
