December 5, 2012 — December 7, 2012

BUHL - Gary Stephan Roach, 62, our husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, went home
to be with the Lord on December 7, 2012, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on December 5, 1950 in Berryville, Arkansas. At the age of two, the family
moved to Idaho and he grew up on the family farm in Eden. Gary attended school in Eden
and Hazelton, graduating from Valley High School in 1969. He earned an associate of applied
science degree in auto mechanics at the College of Southern Idaho.
He entered the United States Army in 1969, serving in Korea and was honorably discharged in
1972 and later served in the National Guard.
In 1972, he met and married the love of his life, Dorita Harp. They moved to Buhl in 1977 and
their 40 year union blessed them with their three beautiful daughters, Carrie Ann, Tawyna Dee,
Melanie Renee and fourteen grandchildren. Gary loved the time spent with his family fishing,
camping, his children and grandchildren's sports games and trips to Alaska.
He worked as a truck driver, mechanic and spent the last twenty years employed with Western
Line Builders where he worked as a line foreman and safety director.
He was a self-taught bass guitar player and played in various bands including the McBride
Brothers, Outlaw Blues and most recently Throttle Back. Gary was a member of the Calvary
Assembly of God Church in Buhl, where he most enjoyed playing his bass guitar in the church
band and praising the Lord.
Gary is survived by his wife, Dorita, daughters Carrie Roach (Michael Rogers), Tawnya (Andy)
Eliasen, Melanie (Chad)Wagner, his mother Virginia Roach Harral, Father-in-law Bob Harp, his
brothers Jarrett (Colleen) Roach, John Brent (Kim) Harral, James Harral, Joe Harral, sisters
Debbie (Jerry) Dockstader, Brenda (Linc) Hoxie, Jody (Jim) Lindsay and fourteen grandchildren,

Ryne and Preston. He was preceded in death by his father Fred Roach, his dad John Lloyd
Harral and his mother-in-law Delores Harp.
Gary had a strong testimony of the gospel and has passed his love of the word of God to those
he loved. We love and miss you and you will remain in our hearts forever.
