Genevieve Isabelle Loughmiller, from Hollister, Idaho, peacefully passed away on March 6, 2022. She was living with and being cared for by her daughter Jana Walker of Hollister, Idaho.
Isabelle was born December 19, 1930, to Clarence Clive and Genevieve Courtnay. She attended school in Hollister, Idaho and graduated from Filer High School in 1949.
While Isabelle was young, she worked as a housekeeper for people in the area and worked at the Jerome Cooperative Creamery in Twin Falls. She later worked as a bookkeeper and then for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a facility manager at the Hollister Church. Isabelle married George Thaine Loughmiller on December 30, 1950 in Hollister, Idaho. They had five sons and two daughters: Robert, Larry, Andrew, Jennie, Charles, Jana, and Miles. They moved around the area but settled in Hollister and raised their family there.
Isabelle attended Sunday School at the Hollister Presbyterian Church in her school age years. She also attended primary classes at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint when she would stay with her Aunt Edith. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Twin Falls on September 19, 1955. Her in-laws, Willie and Martha Loughmiller were active members of the Church in Hollister.
Isabelle loved to sketch and paint. She loved baking and made several wedding cakes for her family. She had and interest in family history work and devoted a lot of time to researching and linking her family together. Family was important to Isabelle.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Clive and Genevieve Courtnay; brother, John Courtnay, and twin brother, Clive Courtnay; and her sister, Laura Ulrich; husband, George Thaine Loughmiller; son, Robert Loughmiller; and daughter, Jennie Lynette; daughters-in-law, Christine (wife of Larry) Lougmiller, and Rene (wife of Miles) Loughmiller; great, grand-daughter, Hannah Staley; and great, great, grandson, Paxton Walls.
Isabelle is survived by her son, Larry (Judy) Loughmiller and their children, Libbie Oram, Tara Lammers, Katie Tatton, Kari Griffee, Jarod Brown, Travis Brown, and Chanel Smith; son, Andrew (Debra) Loughmiller and their children, Jenny Walls, Julie Koyle, and Kenneth Loughmiller, Charles (Amy) Loughmiller and their children, Seth Loughmiller, Rebecca Staley, Sterling Loughmiller, Aneesa Loughmiller, and Zane Loughmiller; and Miles Loughmiller and children, Marilynn Castoreno, Andrew P. Loughmiller, Hope Morrison, Carlee Winegardner, and Jerrit Winegardner; daughter, Jana (Shawn) Walker and their children, Byron Walker, John Walker, Justin Walker, McKenzie Walker, Davis Walker, and Charles Walker; 62 great, grandchildren; and six great, great, grandchildren
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022 with a viewing starting at 10:00 a.m., at the Hollister Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, 2718 East, U.S. 93, Twin Falls. The graveside dedication will be at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Twin Falls, Idaho.
