George Glen Clark

November 18, 1928 — November 30, 2024

BUHL

George Glen Clark, 96, born November 18, 1928, in Clarkston, Utah, to Ray and Gladys Clark, passed away November 30, 2024, in Buhl, Idaho.

Glen married Marie Olander on Valentine’s Day in 1945. Two children, Ron and Linda, were born to their marriage and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren bless his posterity. Glen was a long-time resident of Southern Idaho, residing in Buhl for many years. He started a trucking business, Glen Clark Trucking, and hauled potatoes and onions from the fields for Long’s Produce in the late 1940’s and 1950’s. In the 1950’s, Glen worked with Aslett Construction, primarily doing seal coating and road construction. During that time, he moved his family to Weiser, Idaho. He became associated with Shasta Coal Company of Chicago, and worked their Iron Ore Mine in the mountains near Weiser. Later, he purchased the rights to the iron mine. In the mid-1960’s he moved his family to Twin Falls, Idaho, and purchased a home on Falls Avenue West. Glen started purchasing rock crushing equipment and started a gravel business known as Clark Crushing, Inc. He worked at producing gravel for many local cities and highway districts as well as for state and forest service projects. He also provided gravel and dirt to local farmers and businesses and moved many rock piles from farms. He started a recycle yard west of Buhl as a dump site for unwanted rock and concrete waste.

In November of 1991, his eternal companion Marie passed away. On January 25, 1992, Glen married LaDawn Lott. Glen and LaDawn’s families knew each other over the years through church service and extended family associations. LaDawn’s children and grandchildren were happy to call Glen Grandpa and grew to love and learn from his work ethic, sense of humor, and willingness to share his love of large equipment.

Glen is survived by his wife, LaDawn; son, Ron Clark; daughter, Linda Kellar; stepchildren, Peggy Lott, Bonnie Lott, Dana Lott, Carl (Dana) Lott, Julie (George) Carpenter, John Lott, Keri (Jeff) Himes, Steven (Keri) Lott, and Kriste (Wade) Ranck; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Dorene and Ruby; and sister-in-law, Dianna Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marie; brothers, Clinton, Don, Sylvan, Joe, Darwin, and Nile; sister, Vaudis; son-in-law, Larry Kellar; daughter-in-law, Gail Clark; stepson, Kevin Lott; grandsons, Cecil Kellar and Chad Clark; and great granddaughter, Jayci Darrington.
