George "Jeorge" Zimmers Jr.

George “Jorge” Leonard Zimmers, 58, passed away at home, October 16, 2022. George was born August 30, 1964 in Twin Falls, Idaho to George and Betty Zimmers, the eldest of two sons.

George attended school in Buhl and graduated from Buhl High School in 1983. After graduating he joined his father driving truck, followed by his younger brother, Dean. They enjoyed many years and miles of adventures while belly dumping together.

George made many friends over the years. These relationships lasted the rest of his life. His love of Nascar was unmatched, always rooting for Mark Martin in the six car. He enjoyed many road trips to races with family and friends. This love of racing was no doubt inspired by his racing days at Thunder Bluff Raceway where he enjoyed much success racing with Pops and Dean. His love of cars carried on throughout his life, attending numerous classic car shows with the guys, and Who Knows how many cars worked on…too many to count.

George is survived by his father, George “Pops” Zimmers; brother, Dean (Traci) Zimmers of Buhl; niece, Shelby (William) Brew of Buhl; nephew, Brodie Zimmers of Buhl; and many, many, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Zimmers; grandparents, George and May Zimmers; and Joe and Sophia Martinez; and several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2022 at Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 9th Ave North, Buhl.
