Helen Lemmons

April 12, 1918 — November 30, 2013

Helen Marie (Surber) Lemmons, 95, of Buhl, said her goodbyes and on the morning of November 30, 2013, joined her savior and preceded loved ones.

She was born April 12, 1918 in Frontier County, Nebraska to the couple of Blanche and Jacob Surber. Helen grew up into a beautiful young lady, met, fell in love with and married her companion of 72 years, Benjamin (Ben) Lemmons from Ashgrove, Kansas.

They moved to Buhl with her parents in 1935 where she made a home while Ben worked different jobs to make a living. They became members of the Grange and in 1939 joined the First Christian Church. Helen was active in many of the churches women's functions and especially enjoyed working with the youth groups. In 1947, after Ben learned Bee-keeping, they moved to Canada, but returned shortly thereafter to Gooding and eventually back to Buhl. In the mid-70's, they created a partnership business with their son Bill and his wife Peggy and she remaided a part of her community.

She is survived by her son Bill (Peggy) Lemmons; son-in-law, Ernest Johnson, seven grandchildren and many many great, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, two sisters, two daughters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Helen is and forever in our Hearts.
