July 1, 1946 — February 27, 2024

BUHL

Homer “Dee” DeEstion Lowry passed away at his home on February 27, 2024.

Dee was born to Frances Louise Martin and Marvin Wesley Lowry on July 1, 1946, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He grew up in Wendell and graduated from Wendell High School and served in the National Guard for 6 years. Shortly after graduating high school, he married Judy Bolich. Together they had two children, a daughter, Cindy, and son, Robert.

Dee worked on the family farm and ranch with his father for 10 years. He later started working for the Twin Falls Canal Company as Foreman until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed his social circle with friends and family, and he especially loved spending time with his best friend, Ernie Howcroft.

Even though his circle became smaller through the years with passing of friends and family, he still made his way to his sister Faye’s house for his daily glass of tea and meal. Dee had a huge passion for guns, ammo, and Native American artifacts, and he loved all outdoor activities including hunting, shooting, fishing, and camping.

This past year he enjoyed his weekly shopping trips with his brother-in-law, Dick, to secondhand stores to find hidden treasures, gun stores and gun shows, and going out to lunch at their favorite restaurants. Dee loved playing card games and washer tournaments with his friends and family.

Dee was known for his beautiful garden and canning his produce. As Bason states, “Dee’s salsa was the best, and it got spicier the more beer he drank.”

Dee loved to spend his days with his dogs out on his patio and sharing a sip of his beer or pop with his dogs, Prince and Brownie.

Dee is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Darin) Haumont; son, Robert Lowry; grandchildren, Challis Haumont, Bason (Sabrina) Haumont, and Blayden & Paige Lowry; great grandchildren, Braylon, Henry, and Cayden Haumont; sister, Faye (Dick) Vinyard; and many nieces and nephews.

Dee was preceded in death by his mother and father; and his wife, Judy Lowry.
