James Anderson Allen, 81, of Buhl, passed away at his home April 25, 2013.
Jim was born in Blyth, California to Avery and Rosey Allen. He grew up and went to school in Blythe and Hemmett, California.
He joined the Army and served in the Korean War. He was in many fierce battles and suffered injuries that stayed with him through his whole life.
Jim was married at a young age and had four children, he was later divorced. He then met the love of his life Erma and they enjoyed 25 years of marriage.
Jim enjoyed music and played the steel guitar in bands in California and Idaho.
In the mid-1990's Jim and Erma moved to Idaho to help take care of Jim's father Avery. They eventually settled in Buhl and stayed there until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; one daughter and an infant son.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Allen of Buhl; step-sons, Clifford, Michael, Mark and Edgar Dodge; step-daughters, Susan Schwarz and JoEllen Degner; brothers, Jessie and Morris Allen; sister, Oma Alm; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
