Janet Gill

Janet Lynn Gill passed away on December 2, 2021 at Huntsman Cancer Institute after a 10-year battle with pancreas cancer, and later liver complications, at the age of 61.

She graduated Howard Payne University in Texas in 1981 and later worked for Rockwell STSOC team for NASA on the Columbia project as a System Analyst. Janet's major at Howard Payne was in Computer Science and the second major was in Music. Janet was the daughter of Royce Shoemate a Southern Baptist Preacher and relocated often growing up, she and her mother Deloris and sisters sang in church with amazing quality and tune. My most enduring memories were Janet singing old Gospel tunes as she worked around the house, and sometimes just to make me feel at ease, her voice was like an angel.

After surviving late stage 3 pancreas cancer, by receiving a surgical procedure called the Whipple, Janet completed her black belt in Tae Kwon do, and then obtained another degree from College of Southern Idaho CSI in webpage design, doing what she loved doing. She started Tamar Media, a webpage design business, https://tamarmedia.com/. All this after the Whipple medical procedure.

I shouldn't have to tell you she was a fighter, very intelligent, and sometimes a person of many contradictions. She was the sweetest person that always submitted to Christ in whom she was committed and confessed to for her forgiveness and salvation.

Janet is survived by two sons, Richard Cady and Marcus Cady; her husband, Daniel Gill, whom she was married to in Nampa, Idaho, April 10, 2008, and who dearly loves and admires her always and forever.

A viewing for Janet will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021 at Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 9th Ave N., Buhl, Idaho. A graveside will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery, 1585 E. Elm St., Buhl.
