Judith Kay Ray of 4647 D River Road. Buhl, Idaho passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, of Alzheimer’s. She was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on November 30,1938 to Forrest and Thelma Croddy. Judith married Leo Ray in 1959 and in 65 wonderful married years they raised three children. Judith attended one year of college, married Leo and while he finished his military obligation in New Mexico, Judith went to cosmetology school and got her cosmetology license.
After Leo completed his military service, they moved to Oklahoma and Leo completed his college degree in Zoology. He taught school in Texas, New Mexico, and California then they built their first catfish farm in California. They then moved to Idaho where they built a catfish and tilapia farm. They added trout, sturgeon and alligators over the years. Judy ran the office, did the bookkeeping and sales for 20 years when she officially retired but continued a major role in their business. No major decision was made without Judith’s approval. Her opinions were respected and appreciated.
She was an avid reader, reading three or four books at a time. She was active in PEO, Mentor Club, Campfire Girls and the Methodist church. She practiced and taught belly dancing, attended to her flower beds, decorated their house and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife. She will be severely missed by her husband and family. Judith’s personal Philosophy of life was: Live life with smiles, joy and determination. Laugh often it is good for your heart and soul. Enjoy your life or change it. Love deeply and without prejudice.

Judith was preceded in death by her daughter, Kacy Kay Ray.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Ray; son, Tod Ray; daughter, Tana Dace and her husband Jim Dace; granddaughters, Krista Dace and Brea Dace; grandson Coner Ray and his wife Caia Ray.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 9th Ave N, Buhl.
