Kent Womack

Kent Womack, 63, of Buhl, beloved husband, father, grandfather, veterinarian and friend, passed away Sunday, December 16th after a yearlong battle with cancer. Kent was born March 5th 1949 to Frances and Darol Womack of Buhl. He attended school in Buhl and graduated from both the University of Idaho and Colorado State University; where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. After working in Shoshone for two years he returned to Buhl and started West End Veterinary Clinic where he worked for 35 years before retiring in the fall of 2011. On September 7, 1970 Kent and Deloris Dana were married. Together they raised two sons; Bert and Lenard.
In 1984 Kent became a registered representative in the investment field working for Interpacific Investment Services; and later Symetra Investment Services where he continued to work until his death. Kent had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He also had great affection for his bird dogs, Black Labs and German Shorthaired Pointers who were always considered members of the family. Always wanting to give back, Kent was associated with Ducks Unlimited, the Boy Scouts, and was a longstanding member of the Buhl Rotary Club. He took great pride in helping both of his boys to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Kent also enjoyed remodeling houses, entrepreneurship and taught his sons the value and benefits of hard work.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Deloris; son, Bert (Karen), granddaughter, Ellis Ann of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Lenard (Andrea), granddaughters, Lillian McKinzie and Megahn Bohling of Buhl; Mother in law, Lillian Dana; sister in law, Diane (Evan) Cox of Buhl Idaho; brother in law, Don (Dorothy) Dana of Sandy, Utah; brother in law, Duane (Dianne) Dana of Papillion, Nebraska.
