Kyle Calvin Woods, 62, of Buhl passed away on December 22, 2016 at St Luke's Hospital in
Boise, due to complications from a stroke. Kyle was born March 17th 1954 to Marvin "Bud" and
Anna Louise Woods in Cottonwood Idaho. He graduated in 1972 from Kamiah High School,
Kamiah ID and began college at Lewis Clark State College in 1973. Kyle married his high
school sweetheart and the love of his life, Donna Perry in 1974.
While in college he studied theatre and in the process met his friends and mentors Dr. John
Nydegger and John A.K. Barker. While there he made many lifelong friends. In 1976 he began
working at Burl Langs Logging in Weippe ID and in 1978 he and Donna moved back to Kamiah
where they began their family, being blessed with two beautiful daughters.
In 1980 he followed his father to Battle Mountain, NV to pursue work hauling ore from the mines
as a partner in The Woods Trucking Co.
1983 found them back in Kamiah with a new edition to their family, a beautiful baby boy. They
remained there until 1985 when he decided to return to school to finish his degree in education
at Lewis Clark State College. He and Donna graduated in 1989 and moved the family to Buhl ID
where he began his teaching career. He taught theatre, speech, history, and debate for the next
six years.
He began teaching in Gooding in 1995 until he left education in 2001 to pursue other interests.
This led him to finding work at Schwan's Food Company in 2003. He thoroughly enjoyed his job,
co-workers, and clients for the next eleven years before ill health forced him to retire.
Kyle had a passion and love for music and playing the guitar. He has had the opportunity to
meet some of his musical idols and play great music with great friends. His family has many
fond memories of listening to him sing and play his guitars.
Kyle's greatest joy in life were his children and grandchildren whom he loved to spend time with.
He loved to travel and got the opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime to Stockholm Sweden in
2011, where he got to meet his daughter-in-law Linda's family and witness the christening of his
grandson.
