Lambert Lauda

June 9, 1934 — April 25, 2015

On April 25th, 2015 Lambert James Lauda passed away, while tending to the yard in which he took great pride. Lambert was born June 9th, 1934 in Clarkson, Nebraska to James and Lydia Lauda. The family moved to Buhl, Idaho when he was four, and he began school at the Deep Creek School House when he was seven. Speaking only Czechoslovakian, Lambert had to repeat his first year. He went on to graduate from Buhl High School in 1953, and then joined the Army and served two years in France, an experience that he talked of with fondness.
After returning to Buhl, Lambert met Dixie Chisham, a huge personality in a tiny package. They were married in 1958, and with this union he gained two children and added a third, all of whom he loved very much. Dixie and Lambert loved living on the farm, where they excelled at raising their children, cattle, and many crops. They remained married until Dixie's death in 1995. Lambert farmed in the Buhl area the majority of his life. He retired from farming in 1998 and he eventually moved into town to a little house that he loved calling his own. He then began his second career/hobby of restoring and selling antique furniture. This was a job that he did beautifully. Lambert married Judy Quillen in 2008. They enjoyed traveling, sharing many adventures and creating wonderful memories. They especially loved their trips to Mexico. Lambert was an active member and Elder at the First Christian Church, a Gideon, he delivered meals on wheels and was a member of Kiwanis. He relished his fishing trips and enjoyed golf in his leisure as a member of Clear Lake Country Cub.
Lambert was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dixie. He is survived by his wife, Judy; his sister, Janet (Albert) Turner; his children, Rick (Kathy) Lauda, Tammy (Steve) Bragg, and Tim (Tami) Lauda; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
