Our beloved son, brother, husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather Leonardo Puente returned to our heavenly father at his home in Buhl, Idaho on October 28, 2021.
Leonardo was born on March 9, 1936, in Ocampo, Guanajuato, Mexico to Francisco Puente Lopez and Maria Ramirez Juarez. He was one of seven children.
Leonardo married early and lost his first wife, Amelia, and son. Leonard worked as a police officer in Mexico. Leonardo immigrated to the United Stated in 1968 and worked mostly agriculture processing jobs in California, Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Idaho. Leonardo met his second wife, Ernestina, in Burley, Idaho and married shortly thereafter. Leonardo lived in many towns, but decided to make his life in Buhl, Idaho for the final years.
Leonardo was a self-made man who believed he could build and fix anything and everything. Leonardo had hobbies which included welding, and making what most would call useless and unnecessary items, which were treasures to him.
Leonardo is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ernestina; children, Lilia of Twin Falls, Idaho; Leonardo (Kris) of Wendell, Idaho; Joe of Arlington, Virginia; Bernard of Twin Falls, Idaho; Juan (Mary) of Twin Falls, Idaho; Ernestine (Rene) of Twin Falls, Idaho; and Connie of Twin Falls, Idaho; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Leonardo is also survived by his brothers, Fermin of Tijuana; Miguel of Leon, Guanajuato; and Antonio of North Carolina. Leonardo was preceded in death by his mother; father; sister, Pila; first wife; one son; and two brothers, Alejandro and Alberto.
