Lila Whaley

Lila Geraldine Whaley, 88, of Buhl, passed away November 27, 2012 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls.

Lila was born, November 26, 1924 to Helen and Clifford Stombaugh at Eustis, Nebraska. She moved with her parents shortly after her birth to Buhl, Id. All of her life was spent in the Buhl area and she attended Buhl schools.

Lila married Walter Burgess January 23, 1943. Two sons were born to this union, Gerald and Ronnie. Lila and Walter were later divorced, Dec. 11, 1964.

Lila married James Don Whaley, April 20, 1968. They too divorced Dec. 8, 1987.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Buhl. Lila loved the church and church activities. She also loved her yard tending to flowers and outside work.

Survivors include two loving sons, Gerald (Etsuko) and Ronnie (Mary) Burgess; three step daughters and one step son; five grand children and 14 great grand children, 5 great, great grand children and 1 great, great, great grand child; four brothers, Earl, Clyde, Glenn, and Jay; and two sisters, Opal and June.

A funeral service will be held on at 11:00 am, Monday December 3, 2012 at the Buhl First Assembly of God Church. A viewing will be held between 10:00 am and 11:00 am, prior to the service, at the church. Arrangements under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel of Buhl.
