Lora Lue Schmeckpeper

May 25, 1941 — January 25, 2025

BUHL

Our beloved, Lora Lue Schmeckpeper (Parksion), peacefully departed from us at her home on January 25th, 2025, at the age of 83. Surrounded by the comfort of her loved ones, Lora’s passing impacts the hearts of all that were fortunate enough to know her.

On May 25th, 1941, Lora was born at home to Vivian and Raymond Parksion in Castleford, Idaho. Lora was the third of six children raised on a farm in Castleford and lived in Idaho for 80 years of her life.

After high school, Lora enrolled in business courses, waitressed at a local diner, and met her beloved husband, Delwyn Schmeckpeper. Lora and Delwyn married on December 17th, 1960, and were blessed with two children, Michael Len and Neva LaRue.

Lora and Delwyn created their family in Buhl, and shortly after relocated to Reno, Nevada. During their short time in Reno, Lora worked at K-Mart deli concessions and continued to care for her family as a homemaker. She also found a new passion for bowling, in which she continued after moving back to Buhl, for 30+ more years. Lora and Delwyn eventually purchased a farmhouse in Buhl on April 1st, 1973, and resided in the family home for 43 years.

Lora is survived by her children, Michael Schmeckpeper and Neva Schmeckpeper (Tucker); two grandchildren, Jebidiah Schmeckpeper and Sierra Schmeckpeper; and one great grandchild, Kaiden Carlson. She is also survived by sister, Gloria (Bill) Rutherford; brother, J.O. (John Oliver) Parksion; and many nieces and nephews.

Lora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delwyn; sister, Nelta Parksion; and brothers, Gailey and Gene Parksion.

Lora is deeply missed and always in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with Delwyn, watching over us all.

A Celebration of Lora’s Life will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 31st, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1128 Poplar Ave. in Buhl, Idaho.
