Maria J. Melo - Vancouver, Wa.

Maria J. Melo, Wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother left this earth for glory at 3:35 PM, May 14, 2015. Maria was born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal on July 30th 1932.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Manuel C. Melo Jr. on August 13, 1998. Maria is survived by four sons: Nelson, Joe, Larry and Robert Melo. Maria was blessed with ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Maria and her husband were married and came to America in 1952. Maria was an American Citizen from her Father's side, Jose De Sousa Espinola. After her marriage to Manuel other family members were sponsored and made a new home in America. Maria was an example of "unconditional love and reconciliation" always giving love and always hoping for love.

Maria loved her Catholic Church and its traditions. The Rosary gave her much solace and her deep relationship with her Savior Christ was always a part of her day.

We will deeply miss our mother Maria, you have made a life-long impression on all of us that had the blessing of calling you our best friend. We love you and may your rest be sweet.

A memorial service for Maria will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday May 29, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Buhl, Idaho, followed by a graveside service at the West End Cemetery, Buhl, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel, Buhl, Idaho.
