Marjory Marilyn Chessmore, 87, passed away surrounded by her family on May 27, 2024. Marge was born to John D and Elsie Irene Harms on May 23, 1937, in Buhl, Idaho, in the family home in Mellon Valley. She was the only girl in the family, having two older brothers, John and Gary, and one younger, Delbert. Marge went to school at the Buhl Lutheran, Syringa, and Buhl schools.
On November 30, 1952, she married Gary E. Davis and had two children, and later divorced. In 1957 she married Loy Walden and added two more boys and two more girls. They later divorced. On her 50th birthday she married Claude (JR) Chessmore.
After raising her six children, she worked her way up through the ranks to become an Idaho State produce inspector for beans and potatoes. She was enormously proud of this accomplishment.
Marge was a member of the St John’s Lutheran Church. She loved to donate her time, always wanting to help others in any way she could. She was a member of the Buhl Bunch Car Club, serving as President, Buhl Kiwanis, Citizens on Patrol, and the Clear Lake Country Club.
Marge’s hobbies included keeping an immaculate house, sewing, gardening, fishing, and camping. Her favorite place was Island Park. Her passion was cooking to make sure everyone was fed and taken care of.
The most important thing in life for Marge was her children. They were the love of her life. Along with this were her friends, who she held extremely near to her heart.
Marge was preceded in death by her father and mother; stepfather, Curtis Pryor; brother, Delbert; and husband, JR.
Marge is survived by her six children, Gary (Phyllis) Davis of Filer, Debbie (Fred) Rouse of Buhl, Scott (Andrea) Walden of Boise, Kelly Walden of Boise, Bruce Walden of Boise, and Shawna Sonner (Shannon Eggleston) of Buhl; and brothers, John Harms of Lake Elsinore, California and Gary Harms of Buhl.
Marge has nineteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren, all of whom she cherished.
Marge will be missed by so many in the community she lived in and whoever had the pleasure of meeting her.
