Marlin “Joe” H. Hulse - Buhl

Surrounded by his family, Joe Hulse passed away peacefully January 31, 2018. He battled pulmonary fibrosis for several years and succumbed too quickly to complications from the flu.

Joe was born October 2, 1941 in Trenton, Utah to his parents, Kenneth and Evelyn Hulse. Joe was the youngest of 8 children. The family moved to a farm in Melon Valley near Buhl, ID in 1946 where he grew up farming, hunting, and fishing along the Snake River with his siblings and cousins. Joe graduated from Buhl High School in 1959, and served in the Army for 3 years where he was an Airborne Ranger.

He married the love of his life, Marilyn Grindstaff, in 1962 and they enjoyed 55 happy years together raising their family and building a full and well-lived life. Joe lived his life with a passion for farming and spent his entire life farming in the Buhl and Filer area. Joe was a generous friend and always the first to help a neighbor in need, take care of a chore, or just perform a simple act of kindness. He was an adored grandfather who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandsons, telling stories, teaching life lessons and generously giving encouragement and advice.

He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, son, nephews and grandsons. He loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He lived life to the fullest, working hard, staying active, loving his family and enjoying people everywhere he went.

Joe is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his children Tacy (Todd) Lind, Portland, Oregon, and Ron (Cheryl) Hulse, Buhl, ID, his grandsons, Tal Lind, Bozeman, MT, Teagan Lind, Portland, OR, Hunter & Hayden Hulse and their mother Tracy Hulse, Buhl, ID, his brother Kenneth (Pat) Hulse, Buhl, ID, sisters Darla (Jim) Wilson, Salt Lake City, Utah, & Ann (Duane) Strickler, Buhl, ID, sister-in-law Nell, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
