Mary Easterday, our beloved mom and grandma, went home to spend eternity with Jesus and
her soul mate on September 23, 2014.
She was the first child born to William (Bill) Stokesberry and Mary Ellen Cruz, on September 8,
1952 in Twin Falls, Idaho. She grew up in Buhl, Idaho and graduated from Buhl High School in
1970.
She met the love of her life, Ronald (Ronnie) Easterday, on a blind date in February 1969. They
were married on May 23, 1970. To this union were born two daughters, Carla and Jeri, and a
son Brad. She raised her children until they were in school and then began working as a lunch
lady at Castleford Schools. After leaving the school she worked for eleven years at King's in
Buhl as a sales associate. Following this job she entered the banking industry as a teller at First
Federal Bank in Buhl. She worked at this job until Ronnie was paralyzed in a farming accident
in 1998. She then became his full-time caregiver until his passing in 2004. After Ronnie's
death, at the age of 51 she enrolled as a student at the College of Southern Idaho where she
obtained an Associates Degree in Bookkeeping, graduating with honors, Phi Theta Kappa, in
2006. She went to work for Terry Dodds at Dodds and Associates as an Accounting
Paraprofessional in 2006 and worked there until the time of her passing.
She loved to read, play games, sew, knit, crochet, and genealogy. She made the wedding
gowns and floral arrangements for both of her daughter's weddings. She was knitting socks for
her children and grandchildren for Christmas. In 2011 she fulfilled a dream by taking a road trip
to Missouri to perform genealogy research on her mother's Kelso side of the family. She adored
her children and grandchildren and spoiled them all rotten. They made out like "bandits" every
Christmas. She will be deeply missed by her family and remembered for her beautiful smile,
infectious giggle, and earmuffs.
She is survived by her children, Carla Easterday of Boise, Brad (Jennifer) Easterday of Boise,
Jeri (Oscar) Flores of Castleford; her grandchildren, Kendra, ReAnna, Makayla, Olivia, Zoe; her
dog Charlie; her step-mother, Mary Stokesberry of Eagle, ID; brother, Bill (Deborah) Stokesberry of Libby, MT; half-brothers, Vern Partin of Marana, AZ, Ken Partin of Colorado and Vernon Stokesberry of Eagle; half-sisters, Colleen Stokesberry of Eagle, Dianne McCoy of Boise, and Maria Cruz of Portland, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Easterday, father, William (Bill)
Stokesberry, mother, Mary Ellen Cruz, and half-brother, Roy Stokesberry.
A service has been scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, September 29, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Buhl.
