Mary "Terry" Hammond Withers

Mary "Terry" Hammond Withers, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, at Twin Falls Hospital surrounded by family. Terry was born June 30, 1943, in Beverly, Massachusetts to John and Elizabeth Hammond, and was a shining example of resilience and love throughout her life. She was the devoted wife of the late David Withers and was also much loved by her four brothers Jack, Bill, Greg and Leo Hammond.

Educated at St. Mary's Catholic High School in Beverly, graduating in 1960, she began her career in the workforce as a secretary at Pitney Bowes in Boston, Massachusetts. Her adventurous spirit shone brightly when, in 1963, she accepted a job transfer that led her to drive her first car across the country to California. It was during her time at Pitney Bowes in California that she met and married the love of her life, David Withers. The couple later settled in Buhl, Idaho, where they raised their two sons, Mike and Tom.

Terry was not only dedicated to her family but also had a vibrant professional life. For many years, she worked as a talented blackjack dealer in Jackpot, Nevada, where her charisma skill earned her recognition and respect among colleagues and patrons alike. Through her work, she formed many lifelong friendships that enriched her life and those around her.

Her loving memory will be carried on by her son Michael, his wife Melissa, and her beloved grandsons, Ayden Withers and Colby Johnson. 

Terry is preceded in death by her devoted husband, David Withers; her brothers, Jack, Bill, Greg, and Leo Hammond; her son, Tom Withers; and grandsons, Alec Withers and Dillon Johnson.

Terry's legacy is one of dedication, strength, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
