Michael “Mike” John Higley

March 1, 1948 ~ February 8, 2021

Michael “Mike” John Higley, 72, of Twin Falls, passed away on February 8, 2021 at his home due to diabetic complications.  Mike was born March 1, 1948 in Paul, Idaho to Wallace and Ila Higley.  Mike grew up in Paul and graduated from Minico High School.  He went on to attend Boise State University.

On September 25, 1972 he married his best friend and the love of his life, Connie Vandever Higley in the Logan Temple. Together they were blessed with three sons and a daughter. Mike and Connie began their life together in Paul. They moved to Jerome, Idaho in 1984 when they purchased Big O Tires, later named Magic Valley Tire/Les Schwab.

Mike was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving with the youth.  He impacted the lives of so many people both young and old.  His honesty, hard work ethic, and desire to help others was not only something he lived by, but what he taught to so many.  Those who know Mike won’t forget him.  Most remember him covered in tire grime and dirt from the fields with a never-ending smile that portrayed his love and care in all that he did.

His family was everything to him.  He cared for everyone as though they were family. Mike loved caring for the community that he lived in day or night and did so up to the day of his death.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Connie; sons, Ryan (Sarah) Higley, Jake (Lacey) Higley, Burke (Melissa) Higley, and daughter, Vanessa (Bear) Prairie; grandchildren, Jade, Cameron, Grady, Paige, Remington, Porter, Brody, Easton, Oakley, Hazelynn, MaKadie, and Dutch; and siblings, Gary Higley, Diane Schaeffer, and Debbie Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Ila Higley; and brothers, Bert Higley and Lynn Buttars.

The family will be holding a viewing from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1001 Fair Street Buhl, Idaho 83316. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 12, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
