MILDRED HILDA TOBERER

Mildred Hilda Toberer, 102, of Twin Falls, Idaho, formally of Buhl, Idaho, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 22, 2018.

Mildred was born to Rev. Henry and Ruth Petty Willuweit, December 13, 1915 at Kulm, North Dakota. She was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit on February 6, 1916. Mildred confessed her baptismal faith in the Rite of Confirmation on May 25, 1930.
Her father, a Lutheran pastor, served the churches in Buffalo and Ravenna, Nebraska where Mildred spent her early childhood. When he retired, they moved to Kearney, Nebraska. Mildred was the oldest of five children and the longest lived.

Mildred was introduced to Albert Toberer by his older sister, with whom Mildred worked. They were married on December 23rd 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney, Nebraska, just before Albert was to start welding school in Omaha, Nebraska. They moved to Richmond, California where Albert worked in the Todd Ship Yards. When Albert was drafted in the Army, Mildred moved to Eustis, Nebraska to await his return. In 1948, they moved to Buhl, Idaho and resided there until after Albert’s death in 2002. Mildred moved into Heritage Assisted Living in 2003.
Mildred was the mother of four boys; Larry, Arlyn, Wayne and Roger and was a homemaker, housekeeper and gardener. She had a special interest and talent in growing tall bearded irises and was a 42-year member of the Magic Valley Iris Society.

St. John’s Lutheran Church was her spiritual home where she was a Sunday school teacher and an active part of organizations within the church. She almost never missed a Sunday, until it became physically impossible for her to attend. It has been her sincerest desire that everyone she knew, have Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Mildred is survived by Arlyn (Sharon), Wayne (Polly), Roger (Julie) and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Toberer and son, Larry Toberer.
