Naidene Wegener

Amelia Naidene Wegener, 85, of Buhl, Idaho, passed away November 11, 2013 at St. Luke's Magic Valley Hospital from complications after a fall at home.

Naidene was born September 2, 1928 in Samaria, Idaho, to Walter and Amelia Waldron, number 6 of 7 children.

On March 6, 1949, Naidene married William (Bill) Wegener. They were devoted to each other for 64 wonderful years. They particularly enjoyed their retirement years spending 21winters at the Salton Sea in southern California, where she loved to golf and brought home the championship trophy often.

Naidene graduated from Malad High School. Her love of everything athletic led to a teaching certificate in Physical Education from Albion. She worked as a dental assistant until she received her Associate of Science Degree from Boise State College in 1971 and began her dream job of being a Registered Nurse. She was a recovery room nurse at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise for 19 years.

Some of our best memories of Naidene include her astonishment of receiving as grand prize a whole $8.00 for winning the State Bowling Championship, and her gritty competitive nature at golf, cards, and sports. There was big feistiness in that small package. Favorite trips included RV camping, coast trips and treks to Jackpot. She loved music and dancing, and could dance all night, as long as Bill would last. We will not forget Naidene's amazing meals as her cooking skills cannot be matched.

Naidene is survived by her husband Bill; son, Bill and his wife, Kim; son Jim; daughter Kelle and two grandsons, Andrew and Michael Myshin. Her overall beautiful spirit will be sorely missed by all of us.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buhl Senior Center or any charity of your choice. The family thanks all those who have offered their condolences, prayers and hugs.

At Naidene's request the family will have a private service Thursday, November 14, 2013. Friends are welcome to come by the house at 4:00 p.m. to share memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel of Buhl, Idaho.
