Nancy Ellen Millar Berentz age 81, of Filer, Idaho passed away at her home with her family gathered around her, Friday Nov. 4th 2016.
Nancy was born October 19th, 1935 in Ramsey, Minnesota to Harry and Margaret Millar.
Passionate animal lover by day, unsung hero of the Magic Valley Regional Hospital ER team by night where she tirelessly cared for everyone brought through the door for more than 24 years. She also spend 10 years in the ICU before making her way to the fast paced life in the ER. She dearly loved her job, patients, and coworkers. She absolutely loved taking her Pet Partners visitation dogs Duffy and Bailey to the hospital to visit patients whenever she could.
Often seen with a Coca Cola in hand, she could make a mean pot of the best potato soup and homemade rolls. She always made sure there was a carton of Haagen-Dazs ice cream in the freezer and guarded it from the grandkids with her wooden spoon and her classic sideways grin. She also enjoyed taking her herd of giant Irish Wolf Hounds for long walks on BLM land at their home in Jerome. Collector of all things Vanilla, she loved acquiring and sharing her treasures of lotions and candles. She was a fiercely loyal and devoted friend to many.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert F. Berentz of Filer, son Scott Berentz of Filer, daughter Dana Steen of Idaho Falls, granddaughters Torie Little of Twin Falls, Bree Dumas of Fresno, CA and grandson Trevor Turner of Rogerson, Idaho and great grandsons Jamie Dumas, Karson Little and unborn granddaughter Kaylyn.
