Pansy Irene Brown passed away May 11, 2024. She was born February 5, 1930, in Marlow, Oklahoma, to Riley and Janie Grissom. She grew up in Mansfield, Arkansas, and Williams, Oklahoma. Pansy graduated high school from Camron, Oklahoma, in 1948.
On June 4, 1948, she married Leonard Brown. Together, they had three daughters. They lived in Oklahoma, Rock Springs, Wyoming, and in 1962 they moved to a farm west of Buhl, Idaho. They were divorced in 1977.
Pansy worked for Magic Valley Memorial Hospital and the Buhl Merc as a sales clerk until it closed in 1986. At that time, she started working for the Idaho Trout Processing Plant until she retired in 1996.
She enjoyed gardening flowers, vegetables, trees, and anything else that would grow. She also enjoyed making quilts for her family, knitting, and crocheting.
Pansy was preceded in death by one grandson, Chad Brown; her parents, Riley and Janie Grissom; four sisters, Melzine Coker, Virgie Vailes, Alice Morris, and Sally Berkstrom; and three brothers, Ernest Grissom, Floyd Grissom, and Bob Grissom.
She is survived by her three precious daughters, Connie (Tom) Lyons of Burley, Idaho, Kay (Dennis) Bennett of Boise, Idaho, and Julie McLeroy of Buhl, Idaho; three grandchildren, Kelly Hicks, Erik Bennett, and Erin Bennett; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Muse, Leif Brown, Jaden Bennett, and Ashton Bennett; one great-great-granddaughter, Dahlia Brown; sister, Ruth Kell of Twin Falls, Idaho; brother, Jerry Grissom of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
