Randy Edward Wilson

October 29, 1961 — January 2, 2025

Buhl

We regret to announce the passing of Randy Edward Wilson, aged sixty-three, who passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and his beloved dog Charlie on January 2, 2025, in Buhl, Idaho, after a short but very intense battle with a very rare lung disease. Randy was born on October 29, 1961, in Alhambra, California to Jim and Juanita Wilson.

As a young child he spent his summers in Buhl pitching baseball for the local Buhl team, endearing him to the community and to Idaho.

In 1985 he moved to Buhl and worked as a bartender at Gibb’s Cigar Store where he also became an amazing pool player. In 1987 Randy married Marty – the love of his life! In 1992 he began working as a lube technician at Wilson’s Lube & Detail. He purchased the business in 2000 and built the business year by year with his best friend - son Nic, and family. Randy was an honest, dedicated and well-respected businessman in Buhl and had clients as far away as Alaska bring their vehicles to his shop for that special care he brought to work each day. He developed many lifelong friendships along the way.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, and more importantly, Randy was a devoted family man, who loved his family above all else. Randy raised his children to be honest, hardworking, respectful, and giving. During her school years, Randy loved to attend Ashley’s club volleyball games throughout Magic Valley, missing very few games. He and Marty made time each year to take the kids on special trips throughout America and loved board games with them all –crowning daughter Ashley as the “CHAMPIOOON” Phase 10 player in the entire world! Ashley’s favorite rival in all the games they played was her dad, Randy! He loved to spoil his five granddaughters as he often took them on shopping sprees concluded by lunch or dinner at Culver’s.

Prior to his passing, Randy proudly let his family know he had no regrets in life and had the opportunity to share with each one of them how much he loved them and how proud he was of them.

Randy was always a kid at heart and never grew up! He loved to go to amusement parks and challenged his family to ride the rides. Rollercoasters were his favorite. He loved anything fast, shiny, and loud!

Randy is survived by his wife of 37 years Marty; son, Nic (Kaiya) and their girls Kynadi, Kirra, and Kyndra; daughter, Ashley (Frankie) Martinez and their daughters Adelyn and Natalee; brother, Jimmie; and Father Jim and his constant companion Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and grandparents.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Linda Stowe; sister-in-law Lila (Jim) Atkins; brother- in-law Darin (Gina) McGuire; sister-in-law Teresa Robbins (Scott); brother-in-law Mark (Julie) McGuire and brother-in-law Kent (Shannon) Stowe; along with numerous nieces and nephews who spent a lot of their early life with Randy.

Randy wasn’t necessarily a church going man but had a profound private and lifelong relationship with his maker. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family, friends and business.

Randy was a very private person and had requested there be no public service. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank all the family friends for their support, prayers, food, and flowers that were given from the heart.

“Days grow shorter, and the nights are getting longer, feels like we’re running out of time – fight the good fight and give the best you can!” RANDY FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT!

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Randy’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
