Richard Joe Johannsen

Joe Johannsen, age 70, of Filer, Idaho, passed away December 24, 2023, at St Lukes Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho.

He was born August 28, 1953, in Gooding, Idaho, to Richard Joe Johannsen, Jr. and Marguerite Gail (James) Johannsen. He was raised on a farm and attended schools in Gooding.

In 1971, Joe joined the Army and after basic training at Ft. Lewis, Washington, he was sent to South Korea. There he met his first wife Pak Sun Yong. They were married in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1973. Two children were born to this union. They later divorced.

Joe married Marie Strout in 1999 and they later divorced. He then met and married Teresa Jeffries of Shoshone, Idaho in 2007 and a daughter, Cheyenne, was born to this union.

Joe had a variety of jobs after he left the Army, such as working at Metalbestas in Nampa, Idaho, airport security in Reno, Nevada, and most recently as a forklift operator at WOW Logistics in Jerome, Idaho.

Survivors include his loving wife, Teresa; their daughter, Cheyenne; stepsons Michael (Casey) Heck-Jeffries and Casey (Bryan Post) Jeffries; three sisters, Twyla (Ron) Webster of Nampa, Idaho, Barb (Bill) Chittenden of Caldwell, Idaho, and Deanna (Steve) Campbell of Nampa, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Rex; and sister-in-law Linda.
