Roberta Stouder

October 27, 1947 – March 8, 2018

Roberta Stouder, 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Hagerman, Idaho after a courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer. She was raised in Montebello, California, the fourth of five children born to Harold and Nannie (James) Mross.

Roberta loved to travel, usually the first one into the car, asking where we were going after we were on the road. She crisscrossed the US several times with her husband, Ted Stouder, in their 1946 Ford Tudor sedan and stylish teardrop trailer. She was at her best while driving her award-winning 1931 Ford roadster but could never figure out how to shift her 1947 Ford coupe with a column shift, but then she was blonde! She was an equal partner and worked right along side of her husband in their business that Ted had started 37 years ago. STOUDER ENGINEERING manufactured a product that they shipped all over the United States. Roberta ran the office and was the friendly voice over the phone while Ted ran the shop. Roberta enjoyed sewing and quilting, making many treasured quilts and blankets for family and friends. She loved to read her romance novels and always had a book with her. Roberta was a terrible bowler but really enjoyed herself and her time spent with her friends and team members. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hagerman, serving as a past president in the post.

Roberta is survived by her husband of 29 years, Ted Stouder and their dog Sandy. Roberta and Ted had five children between them; Paul Kosareff of Hagerman Idaho, Crissy Salazar of Southern California, Wendy Applegate from Virginia and Scott Stouder of Tennessee. They lost their youngest son, Peter Kosareff in 2007, the result of an auto accident in Virginia. She is survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, an older sister and her twin brother.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Plans are for a luncheon and then a car cruise or poker run in the Hagerman Valley.

The family would like to thank the staff of Idaho Home Health & Hospice for the gracious care they showed Roberta in her last days of life. The family requests that any donations be made in her name to either the Hagerman Senior Center or Idaho Home Health & Hospice.
