May 30, 1936, awaiting her arrival, George "Ote" and Helen Leona Prather were blessed when their baby girl, Rose Margaret “Peggy”, was born. Peggy spent her early years growing up and going to school in Buhl. After her 8th grade graduation, the family moved to Gooding where she finished high school attending many clubs and organizations as well as the marching band, and working part time at the Gooding hospital. During this time, she met her husband of 68 years, Benjamin William “Bill” Lemmons. Peggy continued her education by attending nursing school, but soon realized it was not her calling.
Peggy and Bill were married January 2,1956, while Bill was on leave from the Marine Corps, at 29 Palms, CA. After leaving the military, they resided for a time in Wendell and Gooding. Then in 1958 they moved to Boise, Idaho with two small boys, where Bill worked for Triangle Dairy. While in Boise, they increased their family, adding another son and a daughter. With four young ones they moved to Buhl and Peggy went to work at Weaver's Potato Warehouse. She then went to work with the State of Idaho and became a produce inspector.
Peggy was an avid bowler for over 60 years and was involved in 4-H with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She also did secretarial duties for the local riding club for many years.
Peggy lived for family, never knew a stranger, and was loved by all who knew her. Peggy was very strong in her beliefs, and she never wavered.
She is survived by her sister, Patti Casch; forever husband, Bill; son, Gregg (Kellie) Lemmons; daughter, Kay Miller; daughter-in-law, Shiela Lemmons; 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous extended family. We love and miss her, but she will always be with us.
Peggy was preceded in death by her loving parents, two sisters, one brother, two sons, 2 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
