Shawn Michael Barrutia

November 6, 1965 ~ February 9, 2021

Shawn Michael Barrutia was born on November 6, 1965 in Boise, Idaho where he lived until he was eight years old.  In 1973 his family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and eventually settled in Buhl, Idaho.  Shawn graduated from Buhl High School in 1985 and shortly after graduation moved to Emmett, Idaho where he worked for two years at Emmett Valley Glass and was a volunteer fireman.

In 1987 Shawn married Debbie Baggett. They lived in Emmett, Idaho for approx. one year and then moved back to Buhl, Idaho.

Shawn was a long haul truck owner/operator for approximately 27 years.  He then sold his trucks and switched to farming in the year 2013. Shawn farmed with his wife Debbie up until his death.

Shawn also managed bee warehouses in the winter in Jerome, Idaho for several years and he worked for the Twin Falls Canal in Buhl during the summer.

Shawn is survived by his wife, Debbie; his son, Michael (Brittany) Barrutia; grandchildren Jaxten and Zoey; his daughter, Maranda (Chance) Pratt; and his granddaughter, Kierra; his parents, Verl and Cecelia Hansen; brothers, Cole and Kevin Hansen; and sister, Brandi (Frank) Pasquale; and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1001 Fair St., Buhl. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Shawn’s name.
