Shirley Joyce Olander passed away peacefully in her home that she shared with her husband, Vernon Olander, in Buhl, Idaho, on March 30, 2024.
She was born to Charles & Wilma Smith of American Falls, Idaho, where she spent her early years of life.
She married Dale Clemens in 1961, and together they had three children, Lorrie, Lena, and Charlie. They later divorced.
She married Vernon Olander of Buhl, Idaho, on May 5, 1972. To this union, she gained five bonus children, Rick, Sherri, Camelia, Rocky and Rusty.
Shirley became one of Jehovah's Witnesses and devoted her life to helping others learn about God. She was an amazing, big hearted, loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. A genuine caregiver to her son Charlie, who had muscular dystrophy, as well as her mother and father in their senior years. Shirley was kind and would care for and love anyone who needed it. She will be greatly missed.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Charlie; her parents, Charles and Wilma Smith; brothers, Johnny and Darwin Blair; and sisters, Elenore and Peggy Blair.
She is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Olander; daughters, Lorrie (John) Rash, and Lena Clemens; her five Bonus children, Rick (Cindy), Sherri Tyler, Camelia Olander, Rocky Olander, Rusty (Susan) Olander; 23 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Harry Smith; and sister, Barbara (Dennis) Brunk.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Buhl Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 912 Milner St, Buhl. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the Buhl Middle School Gymnasium, 525 Sawtooth Ave, Buhl.
