Trudi Lynn Cote, formerly of Kuna, died November 14, 2022, surrounded by her family in Buhl, Idaho.
She was born June 26, 1952, in Williston, North Dakota to Henry and Roberta (Warnke) Onstad. Her father was a chiropractor, and her mother owned a hair salon in Williston. Trudi graduated from Williston High School and attended the University of North Dakota. Later, she went to massage therapy school in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Trudi was an excellent massage therapist for several years before switching careers to become a claims examiner/processor for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Trudi retired from Blue Cross of Idaho after 20+ years in 2013.
Trudi was passionate about her children and many grandchildren. She was devoted to her dogs over the years and donated to various animal rescues and the humane societies. Trudi loved her trips to Jackpot and Vegas to play the slot machines. She was always up for a friendly poker game either in person or on-line. One of her favorite gifts to give or receive were scratch-off tickets.
Trudi was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, Lowell Onstad, of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is survived by her younger brother, Bud (Amy) Onstad, of Durham, North Carolina; and three children, Colette (David) Adkins, of Springfield, Illinois; Paul (Valerie) Cote, of Buhl, Idaho; and Kelly (Jessica) Cote, of Hedgesville, West Virginia. She was a devoted and beloved grandmother to 10 beautiful grandchildren.
There will be no funeral service held in Idaho, although a celebration of life will be planned at a later date for family and friends in Illinois. Trudi requests that you buy a scratch-off ticket in her memory. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to an animal rescue or humane society.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Trudi’s memorial webpage at www.farmerfuneralchapel.com.
