Verna Owen Partin, 94, died November 7, 2013 at home at Woodland Assisted Living in Buhl of natural causes. Verna was born at home in Okemah, Oklahoma October 18, 1919 to Archie and Effa (Carter) Owen. She was the youngest of their surviving children. The family moved to Idaho in 1930 where she had resided since that time.
She married Frank Partin on October 25, 1937. They lived and dairy farmed west of Buhl for most of their lives. They camped and dug for antique bottles as well as hunted and fished in many places around Idaho. After they retired, Frank and Verna spent the winters in Quartzsite, Arizona exploring the desert with their friends there. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, crossword puzzles and her coffee. She was baptized into the Church of Christ in Buhl in 1948.
Verna is survived by her daughter, Susan (John) Dalos of Buhl; granddaughter, Chelsea (Jerome) Bruner of North Hollywood, California; sister-in-laws, Mary Ellen Partin of Twin Falls, Ruth Partin and Ella Rose Partin both of Buhl, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all 10 of her siblings and her husband, Frank.
Thank you to Tracy and Adele and all the staff of Woodland for caring for Mom for the past almost eight years and allowing her to stay at home until the end. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a favorite charity of your choice in Verna's honor.
The funeral will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 11th, 2013, at the West End Cemetery in Buhl. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 10th, 2013, at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
