Vicente Ordaz Vargas passed away peacefully to meet our Lord on October 25, 2024. He was born to Maria Cleotilde Christina Vargas, a housewife, and Celso Vicente Ordaz, a Captain in the Mexican Army and as a Conductor for the railroad in Mexico, on February 20, 1945, in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico.
He liked sports. His favorite sport was boxing. He started boxing at the age of 15 until he was 18 years old, in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. He was a popular boxer known as “Pepino” and well known for his boxing and knock outs. He was one of the main attractions when he had boxing matches at the Municipal Gymnasium. He received a lot of recognition and awards.
He met Irma Acosta in 1963 and they were married a week after they met, in Cd. Juarez. They had five children, Martin Vicente Ordaz, Irma Esther Reyes, Sonia Ordaz, Lorena Ahmed and Crystal Miguel Lee Ordaz.
Vicente was a hard worker, he started working at the age of 13, in his uncle’s restaurant where he cleaned and washed dishes. He also worked in agriculture as a picker in Florida and Ohio. In 1963 he started working at Mennen Factory, a clothing store in El Paso, Texas, where they produced pants and suits. In 1972 he started working for Green Giant from 1972 to 1985 in Dayton, Washington and Buhl, Idaho. He worked at Amalgamated Sugar Company in Twin Falls, Idaho from 1983 until 2020 when he retired.
Vicente enjoyed going to rock concerts. He saw Poison, Cinderella, Scorpions, Paul McCarthy and many more. He liked going out to eat. He liked going to Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on family vacations. He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places.
Vicente was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. We will miss his birthday calls and surprise visits. He will always be in our hearts and memories. God bless you dad and thank you for being there for all of us when we needed you. Thank you for your support, kindness, understanding and most of all love. Rest in Peace, God Bless you.
Vicente was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Cleotilde Christina Vargas and Celso Vicente Ordaz, and his daughter, Crystal Miguel Lee Ordaz.
Vicente is survived by his wife, Irma Ordaz, Buhl, Idaho; children, Martin Vicente Ordaz, Buhl, Idaho; Irma Esther (Rogelio) Reyes, Caldwell, Idaho; Sonia Ordaz, Kimberly, Idaho; and Lorena Ahmed, Tempe, Arizona; grandchildren, Hugo Jimenez, Italia (Kevin) Jimenez, Joseph (Carmen) Ordaz, Jada (Ethan) Aguinaga, Aiden Carpenter; Jasmine (Korey) Reyes, and Zakaria; and great grandchildren, Tessa, Kai, Emma, Ariella, Remi, Carlie, Ezekiel, Ave Maria, Regina Caeli, and Marie Colette.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, with viewing beginning at 10:00 am and Rosary at 10:30 am, Monday, November 4, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1701 Poplar Street, Buhl. Burial will conclude at West End Cemetery, 1574 E Elm Street, Buhl.
