CASTLEFORD • Violet F. Walden, 94, of Castleford, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Cedar Draw Assisted Living in Filer.
Violet was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Huntsville, Ark., where she lived and attended school. She married Lester Walden Dec. 5, 1936, in Huntsville. They moved to the Castleford area in 1944 where she lived for 68 years. She worked for Green Giant for more than 30 years, as well as enjoying her gardening and working with her flowers.
She loved quilting and was a member of the Buhl Senior Center Quilting Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Helen Louise Linck (Louie) of Defuniak Springs, Fla., and Shirley Mae Bake (Eddie) of North Pole, Alaska; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one granddaughter.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl, with burial following at the West End Cemetery in Buhl. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Farmer Funeral Chapel.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and thanks to the Cedar Draw Assisted Living staff and the Hospice staff for all their loving care and support.
