Wayne Knotts, was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on June 18, 1941 to Bill and Agnes Knotts. Wayne passed away on August 25, 2021 in Bullhead City, Arizona, with his family by his side.
Wayne graduated from Nampa High School in 1959 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1962, Navy Reserve, Air Force National Guard, Army Reserve, and Seabees. Wayne married Barbara Schmeckpeper on March 30, 1963 in Nampa, Idaho. Wayne also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 15 years. He graduated from Pueblo Community College in Colorado on May 12, 1989, with an Associate of Applied Science Degree and began his favorite career as an Occupational Therapist. Wayne was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Wayne enjoyed collecting, trading, and selling custom made knives and pocketknives. Wayne also loved metal detecting, singing karaoke and playing in poker tournaments. He was also a skilled pool player. He was always making everyone feel happy by telling jokes and he enjoyed meeting people from everywhere.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Knotts; daughter, JoAnn Jeffries; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Lisa Knotts; grandchildren, Tyler Jeffries, Austin Jeffries, Sarah Knotts, Kristin Knotts, Madison Knotts, Cody Edwards, and Nick Edwards; his sister, Loretta Jensen; and nephews, Ron Wallace and Mike Wallace.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 1128 Poplar St., Buhl, Idaho.
